Books that are current, clean, and ready when you need them.

Monthly bookkeeping for small businesses that would rather be running the business than reconciling it. QuickBooks Online, done right, every month — wherever you are.

About

Hi, I'm Cari Kasson.

I started CS Kasson Bookkeeping because small business owners deserve to know where they stand — without waiting until tax season to find out.

I spent four years handling accounts payable for the Department of Defense — an environment where every transaction is documented, every entry has to survive an audit, and close enough is not a standard. That habit is what I bring to your books.

Before that, fifteen years in customer service taught me something that matters just as much as the numbers: people want to understand their own finances without being made to feel foolish for asking. You won't get a report from me you can't read, or a question answered in jargon.

I work exclusively in QuickBooks Online, which means your books live somewhere you can see them, your accountant can access them, and nothing depends on a file sitting on one person's computer.

What's on the books

Straightforward monthly bookkeeping. No packages you don't need, no surprises on the invoice.

LineDescription
01

Monthly bookkeeping

Transactions categorized, records kept current, and your books closed on a predictable schedule instead of in a panic each spring.

02

Account reconciliation

Bank and credit card accounts reconciled every month, so the balance in QuickBooks matches the balance at the bank.

03

Financial reporting

A profit and loss statement and balance sheet each month, plus a short plain-English note on what changed and what's worth watching.

04

Cleanup and catch-up

Behind by a few months or a few years? I'll get the history sorted and reconciled, then keep it that way going forward.

05

QuickBooks setup

New business, or moving off spreadsheets? Chart of accounts built around how your business actually works, with bank feeds connected.

06

Year-end handoff

Clean, reconciled books packaged for your CPA or tax preparer — which usually means a smaller bill from them, too.

Who I work with

Small businesses, wherever they are

Owner-operators and small teams who need their books handled by someone who picks up the phone. Most of my work happens remotely, so location has never been the deciding factor.

Trades & contractors

Job costing, subcontractor tracking, and materials that don't get lost in the shuffle.

Retail & service shops

Daily sales, inventory purchases, and merchant fees reconciled without the guesswork.

Professional services

Invoicing, receivables, and a clear picture of who has paid and who hasn't.

New businesses

Set up correctly from month one, so there's nothing to untangle later.

Remote-first owners

Everything runs through QuickBooks Online and secure document sharing. We can work together whether you're across town or across the country.

How it works

Three steps to current books

  1. A conversation

Thirty minutes, no charge. You tell me about the business and where the books stand. I'll tell you honestly whether I'm the right fit.

  2. A written quote

A flat monthly rate based on your transaction volume and account count. You'll know the number before anything starts, and it won't move without a conversation.

  3. Monthly rhythm

Books closed and reports delivered on a set schedule. You always know where you stand, and tax season stops being an event.
